Three Favourite Photography Apps

Mobile Night Street Photography

It's no surprise that these days a lot of people take and edit their photos straight on their phone. With the rise in popularity of doing this (even by professional photographers), it's no surprise that their are a countless amount of photography apps available. Ranging from complex apps that replicate photoshop to simple editing apps that can automatically apply a filter for you, anything you need, there's probably one out there.

I've decided to share my 3 favourite photography apps with you. After trying and testing quite  few over the years, here are my top 3.

1. Moment

If you haven't heard of Moment, you must be under a rock, or behind on the mobile photography game. These guys develop their own lenses for your phone, various accessories, as well as an app.

The moment app turns your phone into a DSLR camera. With full manual controls like ISO, shutter speed, focus, white balance, image format and more. It's not only an excellent photography tool but also videography tool.

The pro version is only $2.99 which gives you access to all the features including the ability to take photos in RAW format. By far the BEST camera app if you're wanting more control.

VSCO Cam photography app

2. VSCO Cam

Another extremely popular app for mobile users. VSCO has a tonne of free filters as well as purchasable ones. You're then enabled to fully edit a photo adjusting all the usual contrast, saturation, hue etc. A simple, clean app to edit your insta-worthy photos on.

3. A Color Story

This app is another editing app with slightly different features. A Color Story was created by the fantastic girls from A Beautiful Mess. Similarly to VSCO, the app is free but you can make in-app purchases for more filters or effects.

You can do the standard editing but one of my favourite things about it is that can choose to edit only sections of a photo. For example, wanting to make only the ocean in your photo bluer - but not the rest of it? A Color Story has got your back. I also love the light effects you can layer onto your photos. I never realised how much of a difference these kind of effects can add to a photo. A new fave effect for any photo!

Let me know what your favourite apps are in the comments! I'd love to hear what other apps I can try out.
